Verification of the Catheter Location

Ultrasonography is an indispensable tool for determining the location of the procedure, to detect possible plaques in the artery, and to locate the malposition of the artery during central venous catheterization. When inserting a catheter, the most visible structure on ultrasound is the guide wire. Therefore, before starting the dilation, it can be easily distinguished whether the vessel, that the guidewire is in an artery or a vein.
